Pig Songs and Rhymes

Five Little Pigs
Five little pigs rolled in the mud
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good.
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice

Four little pigs rolled in the mud
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good.
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice

Three little pigs rolled in the mud
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good.
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice

Two little pigs rolled in the mud
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good.
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice

One little pigs rolled in the mud
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good.
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice

No little pigs rolled in the mud,
They all looked nice and clean
The farmer turned his back and what do you know!
All those little pigs jumped back in the mud

This Little Pig
This little pig went to the market.
This little pig stayed home.
This little pig had roast beef.
This little pig had none.
And this little pig went
Wee, wee, wee, wee, all the way home.

Two Mother Pigs
Two mother pigs lived in a pen,
Each had four babies, and that made ten.
These four babies were black as night,
These four babies were black and white.
But all eight babies loved to play
And they rolled and rolled in the mud all day.
At night, with their mother, they curled up in a heap
And squealed and squealed till they went to sleep

Pigs in the Mud (Tune: Row, Row, Row Your boat)
Roll, roll, roll around
In the mud all day.
That is what the pigs all do.
What a way to play!

Roll, roll, roll around
That is how they stay,
Oh, so very nice and cool
On a sunny day!

Pig Art Activities

Pig Snouts
Make a pig snout by cutting out an egg carton bottom. Let the children paint it and put the nostrils on it. Next, attach string to both sides (staple or punch holes and tie) and children can wear their pig noses.

Pink Pig Collage
Give each child a pig cut-out. Provide a variety of art material in shades of pink (tissue paper, construction paper, paints, pom-pom balls, feathers, etc.) and allow kids to make a collage on their pig.

Pigs in the Mud
Allow children to fingerpaint with brown paint (to look like mud). When dry, glue pig cut-outs or have children paint pigs in the 'mud'.

Pigs in the Mud
Provide plastic pig toys. Have the children dip the pig's feet into brown paint and press onto paper to make pig prints.

Pig Math and Science

Count-a-Pig Counting Kit

Muddy Pigs
Mix cornstarch and water with a little bit of brown paint. Add plastic pigs for great sensory fun.

Pig Movement Activities

Act Like a Pig
Ask the children what sorts of things do pigs do. Have the children pretend to be pigs by acting out some of the responses. (Some examples include: oinking, rolling around in mud, eating a lot).

Pig Snacks

Pigs in the mud
Make indiviual servings of chocolate pudding, that is the mud. Add pink mini marshmallows for the pigs!

Pig Slop
Provide chocolate pudding for each child. Also set out a variety of foods that can be mixed in: M&M's, nuts, raisins, coconut, cereal, candy sprinkles, chopped apples, bananas, etc. Let children choose what foods to add to their pudding and mix it together.
